Rail Tensor
A rail tensor is a specialized rail maintenance equipment designed to apply controlled tension to rails during railway construction and maintenance. It plays a critical role in operations such as stress relief of continuous welded rails and the laying of long rails.
Rail tensor is usually used in stress relief operations, seamless line construction, daily track maintenance, and other scenarios. Using the tensioner, construction personnel can adjust the rail length according to the set medium temperature (locked rail temperature) to ensure that the track maintains good structural stability and operating performance for a long time.

The working principle of a rail tensor is to apply tensile force to the rail under conditions below the rail's neutral temperature, stretching it to the length corresponding to the locking temperature. After stretching, the rail is resecured to ensure that it maintains the desired stress state despite temperature changes, thereby ensuring the safety and durability of the track.
Rail Tensor for Sale
Rail tensor is the core equipment for the construction and maintenance of railway seamless lines, and is designed for stress management of 50kg/m, 60kg/m and 75kg/m rails. Its main functions include:
Stress relief operation for continuous welded rails
In regions with large seasonal temperature variations, thermal stresses can accumulate within the rails, potentially causing deformation or even rail breakage. The hydraulic rail tensor applies strong tensile force to stretch the rails to their designed length under conditions below the rail neutral temperature. After the rails are re-locked, it effectively eliminates stress concentrations, thereby ensuring the stability of the track. This process allows precise control over the amount of elongation and avoids errors associated with manual adjustments. It is particularly suitable for high-precision applications such as high-speed railways and heavy-haul railways.

Length adjustment during new track laying
During long track laying, the actual length of the rail may deviate from the design value due to transportation and site conditions. The rail tensor can fine-tune the rail before locking to ensure that the rail gap is completely closed (seamless track) or reaches the standard gap (ordinary track). For example, the 760mm ultra-long working stroke of the AG-YLS-900 rail tensor can meet the needs of large-span adjustment, while the compact design of the AG-YLS-600 (310mm stroke) rail tensor is suitable for local corrections.
Locking rail temperature compensation operation
When there is a difference between the actual rail temperature and the designed locking rail temperature, the rail tensor can compensatory stretch or shrink the rail to achieve the ideal stress state after locking. This function is particularly critical for cross-climate railway operations and can effectively prevent summer expansion or winter breakage accidents.
Technical Ddvantages of AGICO Rail Tensor

Non-destructive rail waist clamping technology
AGICO rail tensor has a unique inclined iron clamping mechanism that directly acts on both sides of the rail waist, completely avoiding the working surface of the rail head. The clamping surface is made of hardened alloy steel, which not only ensures friction (anti-slip coefficient ≥ 0.15) but also does not leave indentations on the rail surface, meeting the requirements of international standards for rail head protection.
Lightweight engineering design
Through the high-strength aluminum alloy frame and modular oil system, the weight of the AG-YLS-900 wide-body rail tensor is controlled within 530kg, which is 20% lighter than similar products. The rail tensor is equipped with a quick folding handle and roller assembly, which can be transported by 3 people to meet the equipment movement needs in complex terrains such as tunnels and bridges.
